Guidance
Buying and selling safely
Mekina Showroom does not hold money, inspect cars, or take part in the deal — buyers and sellers arrange everything directly. These habits keep that simple and safe.
If you are buying
- See the car in person, in daylight, before you agree on anything.
- Check that the libre, chassis number and engine number all match.
- Ask for service records and check the odometer against the wear.
- Take the car to a mechanic you trust for a pre-purchase inspection.
- Confirm the duty status — duty-free cars have transfer restrictions.
- Complete the ownership transfer at the transport authority with the seller present.
If you are selling
- Meet buyers in a public, busy place during the day.
- Bring someone with you for test drives, and check the driver's licence first.
- Never hand over the libre or the keys before the money has cleared.
- Be careful with bank transfer screenshots — confirm the money in your own account.
- Mark your ad as sold when the deal is done so you stop getting calls.
Red flags
- A price far below every similar car on the market.
- Anyone asking for a deposit before you have seen the car.
- A seller who refuses to meet in person or to show the libre.
- Requests to pay through a third party or an “agent” you have not met.
- Pressure to decide immediately because “someone else is coming”.
